The Zephyros model is a model developed for short-term and mid-range wind power forecasts with prediction horizon up to about 10 days. It is suitable as a tool for both intra-day trading using real-time data corrections as well as physical one day ahead trading. The mid-range forecasts (2-10 days ahead) together with the built-in schedule function make it useful when planning maintenance in order to minimize costs due to loss of production during the maintenance as well as for financial trading. The best results are achieved when data for the production from a limited geographical area are available e.g. single wind turbines or farms, but Zephyros can also forecast aggregated series such as the production within a region or a country.
