Installation procedure Aiolos Forecast studio server and clients

Aiolos Forecasting system can be installed on a server in your network or it can be run as a hosted software from Vitec. Here are the basic steps for a standard installation of the Aiolos Forecasting system on a server.

Install IIS (Internet Information Server) on the server

Make sure that .Net Framework 4.6.1 (full version) is installed.

Create a new application pool in IIS where we will install Aiolos Forecast Studio (AFS) web service (running in the default web site, port 80).

Note! This will be automatic configured by the Aiolos installation program.

Install AFS server and client programs on the server and configure them to the data configuration folder.

Test import of load and weather data from data source (if it is from a SQL query database we need an OLEDB or ODBC connection to the database on the server).

If Aiolos Forecast Studio SQL (SQL) import is used with import from text files or from Excel sheet a Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 32 or 64 bit driver should be installed.

Note! If a Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 64 bit driver is used for another application on the same server you can’t have both 64 and 32 bit driver on the same server.

Create Windows Scheduled Task to automatic run import of load and weather data and automatic forecast.

Running scheduled tasks requires a user account to run the prosesses that has a password that never changes. A so called Service account.

Install Release Manager (a program that are used to check for new versions of Vitec programs and download them, uses address:  http://dotnettools.vitec.se)

Note! Release manager from version 1.9 is 64 bit version. For 32 bit use Release manager 1.8.

Install a test environment (where you can install newer versions and test them before you install it for the production environment).

Install client programs on client computer
