The day types are configurable in Aiolos using the Day Type Editor functionality in Aiolos Forecast Studio CONFIG-tab.

The different days have a day type that tells us how to expect the normal load profile to vary over the hours of the day. You as a user will want to be able to set the day types to fit your series. In the picture below, we have different day types for Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

To find a reference load e.g a normal behavior for the series, we will look at the days in the same part of the year. In the example below we will need to forecast two weekdays and one Easter day, which is more uncommon.

The behavior of the days the previous years will be used to set the reference load to use in the calculation. Thus the day types that you select will have an impact on the forecast that Aiolos produces.
