The base period is the period used when estimating the relationship between load and weather. If you have opted for the Aiolos model, this is centred around the forecast start exactly one year before your start date for the forecast. If no data is available last year, Aiolos will go two years back, etc. If you have opted for the Cilia model, this period will be located immediately prior to the date of the forecast start. If the model type is set to ‘Cilia’ and the program cannot find any data the current year, it will automatically switch to the Aiolos model instead.
The length of this period is set under “Length (d)”.
Max search hours
Under the adaption settings, the “max search hours” controls how long data is allowed to be missing prior to forecast start the current year. If data is missing for more hours the current year, the model changes from Cilia to Aiolos if there is more than one year of data.
