Fc-files

Fc-files are designed to hold forecast data. An fc-file contains the same columns as an aio-file with the same version number but instead of containing time series data, fc-files contain a number of consecutive collections of time series for which the periods may overlap each other. These so called forecast blocks are stored after each other together with an import time stamp. This way, the system knows exactly which forecasts were available at each specific point in time and can simulate energy forecasts for any prediction horizons for evaluations and optimizations. Currently, the fc-files can hold up to 6 months of forecast data. The picture below shows some blocks representing weather data delivered each 6 hours stored in an fc2-file intended for weather forecast data.

Fc-files only have 2 sub-columns, so that manual changes never expire. Instead, the user can choose to make forecasts based on the manually adjusted weather forecasts or based on the original weather forecasts.
