If new stations are
selected that are not represented in the Aiolos database, Weather Client can
automatically create these. When clicking on the button, the following dialog is shown:
Here, the user can specify the names of the import files as the path to the file containing the Day Light Saving Time information.
Moreover, the suffix that will be appended after each station name in the import files can be specified. If weather forecasts are fetched from multiple suppliers, these are determined by the web service. In order to change these, the user has to contact Vitec
If the box ”Copy climate weather file” is checked, the program will for each created weather station, create a climate weather file by copying it from the nearest already existing weather station. If you want the created new station to inherit weather history and forecast history then check “copy weather observation file” and “copy weather forecast file”. These2 files will be copied from the nearest existing station from the same weather source.
“Forecast file type” specifies the type of file the forecast data should be imported to. If the import is done by ConsoleUI (new import), then some of the new file types should be used (fc2: for load forecast, fc6: with more weather parameters, fc7: for wind forecasts). Otherwise, use some of the wp-files instead (wp0: max one-week length of forecasts, wp1: max 10 days, wp2: max 30 days)
“Observation file type” specifies the type of file the observation data should be imported to. If the import is done by ConsoleUI (new import), then some of the new file types should be used (aio2: for load forecast, aio6: with more weather parameters, aio7: for wind forecasts). Otherwise, use obs-file for the “old imports”.
”In case station exists” determines how the program should behave if the user tries to create already existing weather stations.
The weather data written in the import files always refer to UTC so in order to import the data to local time, the right number of hours before UTC has to be specified.
If a template has been defined and should be used when creating the weather stations this should be selected in the “Use template” list. In that case, the template will determine the paths to the import files and also the file types and import protocol.
